We're getting married

How It All Began
Alyson and Clint met on a work trip in California in August 2022, and to this day, they still lovingly debate who made the first move. After returning to their respective homes (NYC and Maryland), what started as simple check-ins quickly turned into long paragraphs, daily calls, and conversations that went far beyond work and the weather. Before long, they were talking about future plans, shared values, and the kind of life they each hoped to build.
Their connection grew through a shared love of flexibility, travel, and always showing up for the people they care about most.
After a few weeks of being long-distance "pen pals", Alyson made the bold move to book a train to visit Clint. That first weekend was full of laughter and the undeniable feeling that this could be something special. From there, it was planes, trains, and automobiles. Not once did either of them hesitate to put in the effort to be together.
When Clint moved to Pittsburgh to finish his MBA, train rides became flights, and quick weekend visits turned into week-long adventures. In between trips, FaceTime dates became a ritual, and no matter the distance, they remained intentional, consistent, and excited to keep growing their relationship.
Luckily for them, the "Are you free for FaceTime?" texts were officially replaced with, "I'm on my way home with champagne... see you soon." After one MBA degree, WAY too many airline points, and countless trips across the world later, Clint finished school and they signed a lease together in NYC. They adopted their beautiful puppy, Willa, and began filling their calendar with late-night restaurant reservations, shows, and every experience the city has to offer.
Careers have shifted, zip codes have consolidated, and life has never exactly slowed down, but through it all, Alyson and Clint have never felt more certain.
On August 17, 2025, Clint asked Alyson to marry him at sunset under the Brooklyn Bridge on a sailboat. She said yes. They sincerely thank you for joining them in celebrating their love.
Our Favorite Place
Alyson and Clint first came to Newport on their second anniversary, and from that very trip, they knew it was somewhere special. Between the ocean views, the charm of the town, and a helicopter ride over the coastline, they found themselves saying, “We could get married here.”
Even after touring venues throughout New York and Connecticut, they couldn’t shake the feeling that Newport was it. Following that instinct, they chose this magical place to celebrate their wedding, excited to say “I do” in the town that stole their hearts.
The Black Pearl for classic Rhode Island fare, The Mooring for seafood with harbor views, Giusto for Italian, Brick Alley Pub for a casual bite, Bar and Board Bistro for a great meal, and Drift Cafe for a casual lunch.
A 3.5-mile path along the coastline with ocean views on one side and historic Gilded Age mansions on the other.
Tour The Breakers, Marble House, or Rosecliff. Newport's famed Gilded Age mansions are not to be missed.
The Surf Club for sunset cocktails, Newport Vineyards for wine tasting, Pour Judgement for a great low-key bar, The Nitro Bar for coffee, and Cru Cafe for the best breakfast on the way out of town.
Browse the boutiques and local shops along Thames Street and Bowen's Wharf. Don't miss Ryan Family Amusements for skeeball or the Newport Fudgery for some famous fudge.
Even in the off-season, downtown Newport stays busy and parking can be expensive. Once you're settled where you're staying, we recommend using rideshare or walking. The hotel block is right downtown and close to lots of fun things!

Copenhagen
Our first big international trip together took us from Lisbon to Copenhagen. We explored castles, drove a boat through the canals, and found the neighborhood where Clint's ancestor grew up.

Hollywood Beach
Our first trip together while we were still long-distance, meeting at the Newark Airport before escaping to the Sunshine State to celebrate Alyson’s birthday, which coincidentally overlapped with the Super Bowl and Pride week.

Lower East Side
Alyson loves vintage analog photobooths and frequently makes plans that coincidentally have us end up near one, so it was only natural to take our save the date photos at the Photobooth Museum in the LES.

Maui
Snorkeling with turtles, jumping off cliffs, hiking through rainforests, and eating passion fruit we found on the ground.

Austin
A weekend trip for a friend's wedding, complete with whiskey tasting, a boat ride on the river, and after parties that went way too late.

Nice
Between leases and before moving in together in Brooklyn, we escaped to the south of France for a few weeks. We took trains up and down the coast, hiked to medieval villages, played craps in Monte Carlo, and took a pesto making class in Cinque Terre.

SLC
One of our first dates was at an arcade bar, and we always seem to find one wherever we go. Naturally, we discovered a favorite while visiting family in Utah.

We turned a work trip into a sightseeing adventure with tulips, windmills, and a Heineken canal tour.
